Kiara – Nurse

Kiara has been part of our North Ryde Clinical Crew since 2014.

Prior to joining us, Kiara worked with exotics in captive animal facilities, including Symbio Wildlife Park as a zookeeper, and Centre for Animal Rehabilitation and Education as a veterinary nurse.

She has helped raise orphaned baboons and worked at RSPCA as a foster carer.

What do you love most about your job?

Working with animals and making their quality of life better.

Do you have any pets of your own?

I have a Golden Retriever and Eastern Snaked Necked Turtles.

When you’re not working with animals, what are you doing?

Snowboarding in winter, travelling, surfing, kayaking and spending time with my dog at the beach. I enjoy down time doing crafts and exploring new areas.

What’s your favourite spot in Sydney?

Somewhere peaceful away from the busy city, where I can enjoy the smell of bush and the sound of the wildlife.

One interesting fact about you that people probably don’t know?

I have shared an apple with a baby baboon, and had him sleep in my bed as I was his surrogate mother!
